From a glance at the name and the fact that all the characters are animals, everyone probably thought that Zootopia was just  another animated movie. This is actually one of the most important movies of the year. I use the word important because it highlights issues that are relevant to our society today like racism and sexism. If you haven’t watched it yet, then you’re in for a surprise. In a small city, by the name of Zootopia there’s all types of animals from giraffes to the smallest hamster. There was one bunny named Judy Hopps that had a dream. She wanted to become the first rabbit to join the police force. Judy knew it wouldn’t be easy but she didn’t expect the challenges that would come. When Judy is given a case to solve she is determined to overcome the obstacles she’s facing. Receiving no encouragement from her male counterparts, Judy continues to prove them wrong.  “Zootopia teaches you not to judge people because of what they look like”, freshman Amanda Lao professed. “ It touches on discrimination and the movie has a good message”, Amanda also said that audiences in the future would want to see more movies like this because it’s not just the cliche plot where the princess meets a prince and they fall in love but they touch on pertinent issues in our society.
